The state flag of Ohio was adopted in 1902 in the capital city of Columbus. It is the only state flag that is not rectangular in shape. Instead, it is in a swallowtail shape with two points on one side. The flag consists of the colors red, white, and blue. It features 17 stars which symbolize it being the 17th state of the Union. These stars surround an "O" shape which is a direct relation to the state's name.
