The provincial flag of New Brunswick was adopted in 1965 and still flies in the capital city of Fredericton to this day. The flag is one of the more decorated flags you will find throughout the 13 Canadian provinces and territories. The flag features red, yellow, and blue as its primary colors with symbols of a lion and a ship sailing. The colors and lion relate to the original historic city of Brunswick in England. The ship is meant to be a symbol of the historically famous shipbuilding that New Brunswick has been known for since its colonization.
