The flag of Alberta was adopted in 1968 and still flies today in the capital city of Edmonton. The flag shows a strong blue background with the province's coat of arms at the center. The blue and gold on the flag are recognized as "Alberta Blue" and "Alberta Gold" for their unique shade. The coat of arms shows the St. George Cross from the region's English heritage and a mountain range representing the beautiful sights throughout the province.
